Happy New Year!!
Ingredients
Maida/ All purpose flour - 1 and 1/2 cups
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Oil - 1/4 cup - I used sunflower oil
Milk - 1 cup(dry measuring cup)
Baking powder - 1 and 1/4 tsp
Cocoa powder - 4 tsp
Vanilla essence - few drops
Method
In a mixing bowl take milk, sugar and oil. Mix well with a beater. To this add maida and baking powder and vanilla essence.
Mix well with a beater to a smooth batter. You don’t have to beat it thoroughly, just enough to bring it to smooth batter consistency.
Take half of this mixture in a different bowl. Add cocoa powder. Mix well.
Take an 8 in cake tin. Grease well with butter. And sprinkle little dough. Now the fun part. Add 1 ladle of chocolate batter in the middle. On top of this add one more ladle of vanilla batter. Continue like this alternating between chocolate and vanilla batter.
Once it’s done, take a tooth pick and draw lines from middle to the edge, cleaning tooth pick after every line.
Once you have a pattern, bake it in a preheated oven at 350 F for 30 min. Insert a tooth pick to the middle and check if the cake is done, it should come out clean. Cut into slices and serve.
