Another easy and healthy snack which “hides” the real vegetable under the disguise of fries. It’s so tasty and easy, you can make it in no time.
In my native place, whenever any of us kids said we are bored or don’t know what to do, the elders would say “genegu beyisu hogu”, meaning - go cook sweet potato. I have no idea why that is linked with boredom.. should ask somebody the logic behind that phrase..
Coming back to the recipe. You cut sweet potatoes into thin strips. Put some spices and bake - it’s as simple as that. Kids will love it for sure..
Do try!
Sweet Potatoes - 4
Red chilli powder - 3/4 tsp - very mild
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Salt
(You can add any spice along with this, like coriander powder, garam masala, chat masala, kitchen king masala for additional flavor)
Method
Heat the oven at 450 F.
Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into thin strips(shaped like fries)
In a big bowl put these strips. Add some oil, salt, red chili powder and turmeric. Mix well with a spoon. Line the baking pan with aluminum foil. Smear some oil. Spread sweet potatoes evenly on the baking pan. Make sure it doesn’t overlap. Bake for 20 mins or until the fries are done. Turn the fries over in between. Sprinkle some salt on top after it’s baked. Serve hot.
Enjoy!
