Tomato saasime/mosarubajji/raita - continuing with another simple recipe which can be made easily with only few ingredients on hand. One of my favorites. This is how raitas(saasime) are generally made in Kota region. This is had with plain rice. Just like tamblis in my previous posts, this is also served more like a second gravy along with a main dish like rasam/sambar. Savor it with hot rice and some sandige(fryums).. yum!

Tomato Dal
Here’s a restaurant style dal, which my friend actually got from a restaurant chef. Simple dal, tweak a little, and you’ve got an extraordinary tasting, restaurant quality dal.
Dal is my favorite comfort food.
Dal + Rice + Ghee + Papad + with the side of pickle = heaven! simply heaven!!
This goes well with plain rice or jeera rice.
Do try!

Tomato Bhaji/Gojju
Often times I am at loss as to what to cook as side dish for Chapathis on regular days, just for us. I’m not the kind who is inclined to make Curries all the time. I just make regular palyas(dry vegetable sabzis) and dals.
I came across this particular tomato bhaji recipe online and the simplicity of it caught my attention. Tomato and chapathi even otherwise go together really well.
The bhaji came out really good. Jaggery’s sweetness along with groundnut’s nuttiness complimented tomato’s sourness very nicely. This is going to be a regular in our house from now on for sure.
Note that there is no onion or garlic in this recipe.
Do try!
