Street style Veg Fried Rice

Just like pulav, I am struggling to get that THE flavor of fried rice that’s available in Indo Chinese restaurants. Every time I see a recipe with slightest difference than what I’ve tried before, I try again.

So did this particular recipe pass my taste test? It kinda did, but not 100%. But to be fair, this is supposed to be street style fried rice(which I’ve never tasted), not restaurant style, and also I didn’t stick to the recipe 100%. This recipe is very close to what I want to achieve. This gives me a good base to work upon.

This recipe is from a Chef Ranveer Brar(link given below).

Do try!

Szechwan Rice

I had tried Szechwan rice recipe long time back. But when I wanted to post it everybody else was posting it.. this has happened with other dishes too, many times...

Spooky, right? get it, halloween, spooky. Get it? Am I even getting this “get it” right? get it? :D

This is what my almost 8 yr old is into these days - she is all the time saying ‘get it?’ jokes. She is doing a much better job though. Like the other day she said, “careful! you are folding the folder, get it? folder, folding”

Anyways, coming to the recipe, this is an easy recipe when the sauce is prepared before hand. I am always hesitant for eating this dish out in the restaurant, as it is generally very very spicy. So when I came across this recipe in ED group on Facebook, I wanted to give it a try as I can adjust the sauce according to my taste.
The rice came out very good and not as spicy as in restaurants.

Do try!

Indian Fried Rice

My Ode to Maggi

Whenever I needed you
you came to my rescue
Mornings, afternoons, nights
even midnights too

You were loved by
kids and adults alike
Why did they make you
take a hike :((

I was acting over-smart, sneaking in vegetables too
Turns out you yourself were unhealthy, aakhir kyon??

My mom said one time,
she made you in an old pot of mine
The vessel turned sparkling new
She swore that’s the last time she’d make you!!

Maggi O Maggi
it’s hard to say good bye!
Good bye, my beloved,
come back healthy and alive!!!

bye bye Maagi!
bye bye...
*sob sob*

Coming to the recipe,

This is yet another version of Indian fried rice, which is very easy and tasty. My friend’s mom gave me this recipe.
It uses only clove and garlic for masala which differentiates this from other rice baths.

Do try!

Simple Fried Rice

One of my cousins was asking me for some easy rice dishes that she could whip up in few minutes after coming home from work. I generally make only easy rice baths, but this recipe I got to say, beats the race for easiness. According to me, the only next easiest thing to cook is plain rice :)

It virtually has no masala, but yet is so unbelievably tasty. And it’s healthy too!!

This recipe is for those days when you just want to chill and not bother much about cooking but still want to eat something healthy and tasty....

I got this recipe from my friend’s mother-in-law.
