Here is one more recipe for vangibath by making vangibath powder from scratch. This recipe(link given below) uses stone flower, which gives a very distinctive taste to the vangibath. I have tweaked(guessed) the quantity for one time serving and given it below. Do try..
Ingredients
Dhania - 1 cup
Chana dal - 1 cup
Urad dal - 1 cup
Byadagi mensu - 25-30
Guntur mensu - 10-15
Kobri/ desiccated coconut - 1/2 cup
Stone leaf - few pieces
Star anise - 2
Marati moggu - 4-5
Cinnamon - 10, 1/2 inch pieces
Individual serving - (chk notes)
Dhania, chana, urad - 2 tsp
Byadagi - 7
Stone leaf- small piece
Star anise - 1/2
Marathi - 1
Cinnamon - 2
Kobri
Method
In a pan, fry dhania, chana dal, urad dal separately till they change color.
Transfer them on to a plate.
In the same frying pan, add oil, add stone leaf, star anise, marathi moggu and cinnamon and sauté till they puff up. Add chilies and sauté couple of minutes till they are all roasted. Transfer to a plate for cooling down. Off the stove, add kobri to the pan and fry in the residual heat. Transfer it to a plate.
Allow everything to cool down completely and then dry grind in a mixie to a smooth powder.

Notes -
- The amount given in ‘individual serving’ is enough for 2 servings of 2 cups rice each.
- I added 2 elaichis and 6 cloves(individual serving) one time and it tasted good.
