Presenting another simple rice bath - simple only in ingredients but rich in flavor - Aloo rice bath. It was a big hit in my family. I made this in InstaPot. Quick and easy.

Potato - 3 - chopped into big pieces - original uses baby potatoes
Rice - 2 cups sona masoori; water - 4 cups
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 4 - 1/2 inch pieces
Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp
Dhaniya powder -1/2 tsp
To grind
Garlic - 3
Cilantro - big bunch
Mint leaves - half of cilantro
Green chillies - 4
Tadka
Jeera
Oil/ghee
Method
Original recipe -
Grind ‘to grind’ ingredients.
In a pot add oil + jeera + baby potatoes + ground mixture + salt. Keep it aside.
In a pressure cooker + add oil + gg paste + cinnamon + jeera powder + dhaniya powder + rice + aloo mixture + salt + water. Cook for two whistles.
Here’s what I did in Insta pot:
Grind ‘to grind’ ingredients along with ginger, garlic, jeera powder and dhaniya powder.
Make tadka in InstaPot. Add oil + ghee in Instapot. Add jeera, cinnamon. Sauté till jeera sizzles. Add either baby potatoes or regular potatoes chopped into big pieces. Fry for few minutes. Add ground mixture, then rice + water. Cook in manual - 6 min, NPR.
