Easy eggless brownies

Enjoy this Christmas with some homemade eggless brownies…

I have used flax meal as an egg substitute. Flax meal(ground flax seed) is such a wonderful egg substitute, it has no odd taste, it is good for health, and texture of the brownie comes out soft and fluffy.

This recipe is extremely easy. Mix everything and bake, as simple as that. Do try!

Happy holidays!! Merry Christmas!! Happy New Year!!

Ingredients
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder - 1/3 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp

Butter - 1/2 cup(1 bar)
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp

Egg substitute - for 2 eggs
Flax seed powder(flax meal) - 2 tbsp
Water - 6 tbsp

Method
Preheat oven @350 F. Mix flax meal with water and keep it aside. It becomes gooey after few minutes.
In a mixing bowl add melted butter. Add sugar, flax meal paste, vanilla extract. Mix well with a beater.

With a spatula fold in all purpose flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder.

Grease and flour an 8 in square pan.

You can add less flour than this

Pour in batter. Spread evenly. Tap couple of times on the counter.

Bake for 25 - 30 min. A tooth pick inserted in the middle should come out clean after it's baked. Do not overcook.

Let it cool a bit and cut into 2 in squares.

Notes -
  • The above quantity makes 16 brownies.
  • Sieve flour with cocoa, salt and baking powder to get a smooth flour for baking.
